Holiday Activities and Attractions

South Australia’s South Coast is a holiday maker’s paradise. You’ll find plenty to see and enjoy on vacation in the Fleurieu Peninsula. It’s an ideal location for relaxing on the beach, fishing, wine tasting, hiking, cultural attractions and adventure tourism.

Climb The Bluff at Encounter Bay, or hunt for shells and crabs in the rockpools along the water’s edge at the beach below.

Popular seaside town Victor Harbor has a number of fantastic things to see and do. Go whale-watching between May and October each year, catch the horse-drawn tram to Granite Island – home to little penguins, or visit the Urimbirra Wildlife Park for an up-close and personal encounter with South Australia's animals.

Head to coastal markets like the Victor Harbor Farmers Market on a weekend and fill your basket with goodies.

Sandy, picturesque Port Elliot is the perfect place to enjoy delicious fish and chips on the foreshore at Horseshoe Bay.

Sign up for fun surfing lessons at beaches such as Middleton, climb aboard a seaside train or go walking and picnicking through Fleurieu Peninsula’s national parks.

The historic river port of Goolwa is a gateway to Hindmarsh Island, and here you can enjoy in a local micro-brewery’s wares or have a gourmet meal right at the beach.

The Fleurieu Peninsula enjoys cool winters and warm to hot summers. To find out more about the climate on the south coast, click here.
